Munther Yousef

Munther Yousef was born in Algeria now residing in Houston, Texas. Has a computer science degree and work with the Energy Trading and Risk Management software’s for Oil and Gas. Munther became interested in calligraphy in the first grade, when he learned to write with feather quills and ink. He continued to study on his own and under his cousin, who taught Arabic calligraphy at the University of Jordan and was certified from a great Calligrapher in Iraq.

Over the course of five years, he attended summer classes to learn the five major Arabic Calligraphy fonts.

He has incorporated his skills into past employment in graphic design in Jordan and he has been teaching Calligraphy classes to various levels at:

·        Arab American Cultural and Community Center

·        Asia Society Texas Center

·        Islamic center in Pearland

Munther also teaches private classes groups and one on one. He has performed live calligraphy at several places and festivals like Houston Museum of Fine Arts, Islamic Arts Festival, Islamic Arts Exhibit in Houston City Hall.
