The Islamic Arts Society attended the official inaugural opening of the ‘Faithful Friends’ exhibit on April 6th at the Children’s Museum downtown Houston. It was attended by a variety of faiths and cultures from Christians, Jewish Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs and all American adults and kids alike.

The calligraphy corner was central to the stage attraction and guest appreciated becoming familiar with the Arabic language as well as the Islamic culture with getting their own personalized names written. The event was followed with a beautiful ribbon cutting, along with wonderful speeches from curators of the exhibit, Punjabi dances and Tabla and soulful church dance performances. As an amazing addition, we are happy to highlight the rich tradition of Islam through calligraphy so appreciated by the big crowd of guests that visited our table all through out the day leading up to and after the opening ceremony.
